Camper
A 4th generation family business from Mallorca, Spain, Camper Boots & Shoes offers an extraordinary selection of fine footwear – stylish, comfortable, carefully crafted and quite cool – in a Market Plaza shop which is a work of art in its own right. The store is just as colorful and beautiful as the wide range of footwear (men, women, children) it offers.

Marconda’s Meats
At Marconda’s, you’ll see the pro’s ordering at the counter every day. The selection is amazing: a wide range of steaks and chops, roasts butchered to your specifications, ground beef and lamb, homemade Italian sausage (turkey Italian sausage, too) and a New York hot dog which is simply sublime. Don’t neglect the exceptional array of cold cuts around the corner from the main counter. Click here to learn about the DeRosa Family, owners of Marconda's Meats.

Magee's House of Nuts
Magee’s wide, superior variety of nuts has been a tradition (and a holiday staple) for decades. Pecans, walnuts, macadamias and several varieties of peanuts are all available by weight or in charming gift boxes. There’s a special treat here, as well: the fresh nut butters are scrumptious and, if your timing is right, you can watch the machine which makes fresh peanut butter work its magic.

Los Angeles's Original Farmers Market

By David Hamlin and Brett Arena Since 1934, the Original Farmers Market at 3rd & Fairfax in Los Angeles has been at the center of the citys history, from the Great Depression to todays Great Recession. It has endured as one of LAs most treasured locations, drawing visitors not only from the city it helped mold but also millions of tourists from around the world. Authors David Hamlin and Brett Arena capture the Markets quirky beginnings, its enduring personality, popularity and eccentricities in a new book from Arcadia Publishings Image of America series. With the help of hundreds of rare archival photos made available from the Farmers Market owner, the A. F. Gilmore Company, the authors trace the evolution of the property through a rich history that reads more like fiction than real history. 128 pages, paperback.
